What is a letter of map change (LOMC)?  As part of its administration Of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) publishes flood hazard maps called flood insurance rate maps, or firms. FEMA uses the most accurate flood hazard information available in their development of the firm's. However, sometimes FEMA inadvertently includes some areas due to topographic limitations in their flood studies. These areas can include portions of your property or even the home or building you own. Space in some instances, earth, until they have been placed during development, potentially elevating your property or structure above the base flood elevation (BFE). In some instances the firm's scale is too large and could not correctly shows an elevated area adjacent to the DMV. FEMA understand these situations do not occurre and has set up procedures To allow properties and homes or other buildings to be reevaluated. FEMA has administrative procedures to change the designation of qualified properties on the firm. A letter of map amendment or Loma, & a letter of maps revision based on FILL or LOMR - F, or procedures that can officially remove a property and or structure from the special flood hazard area SFHA.
